We’re thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between the University of Bedfordshire (UoB) and Laus Engineering to develop an AI-powered software solution designed to revolutionize lap timing in go-kart racing tracks. The ChallengeLaus Engineering seeks an advanced system to estimate each go-kart's lap time using trackside cameras. The software will: Recognize the number on the side or front of each go-kart. Calculate lap times by identifying when the same kart reappears. This innovative approach aims to provide a seamless, precise, and automated timing solution, paving the way for a unique service offering in the go-karting industry. The ApproachUoB’s expert team is leading the development of a pilot system, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in image recognition and machine learning.
